Bauerfeind AirLoc - Motion-limiting ankle orthosis with adjustable air padding

In combination with a shoe, the AirLoc stabilizes the medial and lateral capsular ligaments of the ankle after acute injuries. Two anatomically shaped plastic shells form a U-rail and are fixed with two anatomically shaped Velcro straps that run around the ankle and lower leg. The shells are elastically connected to each other below the heel bone and adapt to the individual foot width and the current degree of swelling.
On the inside there are large foam pads in a soft microfibre cover. An additional air cushion is incorporated laterally. Using an integrated pump and a drain valve, the air cushioning and thus the fit of the orthosis can be variably adjusted throughout the healing process and adapted to the state of swelling. Pronation and supination are mechanically restricted to protect against re-trauma.
The AirLoc is hardly bulky and fits well in different shoes. The orthosis is available in a storage-efficient universal size that can be worn on the right and left foot.
